Company's "Energy-Harvesting Coal Pile Thermal Safety Technology Based on Gravity Heat Pipes" Successfully Passes Scientific and Technological Achievement Appraisal
On November 10, 2025, the project "Research and Application of Key Technologies for Energy-Harvesting Coal Pile Thermal Safety Based on Gravity Heat Pipes" — led by Guangzhou Bluesky Thermovoltaic Micro-Energy Technology Co., Ltd., in collaboration with Guangzhou City University of Technology, Guangzhou Institute of Measurement and Testing Technology, and other partner institutions — successfully passed the scientific and technological achievement appraisal organized by the Guangdong Energy Conservation Engineering Technology Innovation Promotion Association at

Guangzhou City University of Technology.
The appraisal committee unanimously concluded that the overall technology of this achievement has reached an internationally advanced level and approved its formal acceptance.
Innovation-Led: Building a Closed-Loop System of "Extracting Heat from Coal, Powering Monitoring with Heat"
Centered on the persistent industry challenge of coal pile spontaneous combustion prevention and control, this project transcends conventional technological limitations to establish an integrated, autonomous closed-loop system encompassing efficient heat dissipation, passive self-powering, and intelligent early warning.
By actively extracting internal heat from coal piles via gravity heat pipes to prevent spontaneous combustion, and combining thermoelectric generation technology to realize the principle of "extracting heat from coal to power monitoring," the system leverages low-power energy management and advanced predictive modeling to achieve active heat dissipation alongside a remarkable 91.7% temperature prediction accuracy. This advancement facilitates a critical shift in coal yard safety management from reactive emergency response to proactive early warning.
Scenario-Driven: Actively Responding to National Policies on New Scenario Applications
Recently, the Implementation Opinions of the General Office of the State Council on Accelerating Scenario Cultivation and Opening to Promote Large-Scale Application of New Scenarios (Guobanfa [2025] No. 37) explicitly called for promoting pilot trials of new technologies in typical scenarios to accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and industrial upgrading.
The energy-harvesting coal pile thermal safety system developed by our company represents a vivid embodiment of the "scenario-driven innovation" philosophy. The system has been successfully deployed across multiple operational scenarios — including enclosed circular coal yards (Huaneng Dongfang Power Plant), open-air strip coal yards (Huaneng Ruijin Power Plant), and enclosed strip coal yards (Huizhou Port) — demonstrating excellent reliability, economic viability, and scalability.
