Conventional photovoltaic (PV) modules convert only approximately 20% of incident solar energy into electricity, with the remaining energy dissipated as waste heat. This accumulated heat not only goes unutilized but also degrades the photovoltaic conversion efficiency of the solar cells—as panel temperature rises, electrical efficiency declines.
The PVT Hybrid Water Heater is a high-efficiency combined heat and power water heater that integrates photovoltaic and solar thermal functions.
Utilizing PVT technology, the PVT Hybrid Water Heater combines photovoltaic electricity generation with solar thermal collection. The PVT panel employs monocrystalline silicon PV cells, while a superconducting heat collector—featuring micro heat pipe vacuum lamination technology—absorbs thermal energy from the PV backsheet. Simultaneously, a thermal circulation mechanism cools the PV panel, enhancing photoelectric conversion efficiency. This design enables efficient PV/T synergy, achieving an overall solar utilization efficiency of up to 75%.
The PVT system integrated with auxiliary heat sources (such as air source heat pumps, electric boilers, gas boilers, etc.) forms a flexible water heating solution featuring dual-source energy coupling, high efficiency, and energy savings. It meets the sanitary hot water demands of schools, hotels, hospitals, employee dormitories, restaurants, industrial facilities, and similar applications.
